Events

Events can include: daily mass on days that we meet, rosary, March for Life, Gala, Christmas Party, family game nights, summer pool parties, group sports, and planned field trips.

Our children participate in a variety of public service opportunities such as performing plays for nursing home residents to serving the needs of the mentally handicapped at Camp GLOW, a residential summer camp run by the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

We encourage our families to participate in activities together, including sports. A number of our families register for sports through the Christian Athletic Association, located in the Catonsville, MD area. They offer a variety of group sports including both outdoor and indoor soccer, indoor floor hockey, and homeschool PE classes on Wednesdays. In addition to recreational sports, St. Michael's Academy also cooperates with the CHEN Athletic Association that provides varsity level sports for those who seek intense competitive athletic pursuits.

St. Michael's Academy families have actively participated in the yearly March for Life in D.C. We usually meet at a local parish and ride a bus together for this event.

We like to have fun! We plan family parties and game nights throughout the year, and sometimes plan activities just for the high school age, or even just a parent's fun evening together.

We plan several fieldtrips during the year. These can include fun ones such as a Fall hayride with picking pumpkins at a local farm, to planning educational fieldtrips around a particular subject the children are learning. The high school young adults sometimes plan additional fieldtrips or activities to enhance what they are learning.

During our main Thursday cooperative days - we start the day with daily Mass, have breakfast together, classes, prayers before lunch, during lunch time recess the kids play in the playground and play soccer and basketball, classes, and end the day with prayers and everyone helping to clean up.
